Photo special effect apps like this one are yesterday’s news. But I hardly ever use them. Ironically, they are so much fun for me! In the case of Hipstamic, I find the user interface so darn clunky that it is impractical. By the time I realize I am in a scene that should inspire the use of the app, and then select the effect I want within the app, the photo opportunity is past. But that is whining. Practice will drive familiarity.
On the other hand, the image below is one that was created in a scene that had no photo purpose. I was able to make something from nothing. This is the way to add value!
